Visual Studio is great except when its not. One of the most frustrating aspects is when a "standard" control is missing or is missing functionality. As always the open source community is a great resource for filling in the gaps. Over time I have used and tweaked code from the open source community. As some of this code is actually reusable, I am publishing the useful bits in order to give back to the open source community.
